LEGENDS & LEGACY DIVA HOLLYWOOD AUCTION & GALA SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2007 at 6:00PM A.N.A.F - GEORGE STREET, BARRIE Did you know that 90% of Canadians would prefer to spend their end-of-life journey at home? 100% of us will die, but sadly only 14% of us will be given the choice to die at home; due to lack of support or a choice being offered about where to be at the end of our life journey. We are a group of women who want to help change those odds - we are holding a Womens Only Auction & Gala called Legends and Legacy (Diva Hollywood). The proceeds for this event will be given to Hospice Simcoe for their capital campaign. Hospice Simcoes Capital Campaign is called Expanding the Circle of Care Count Me In! Their goal is to build a ten bed residential hospice for the community, freeing up ten beds from local hospitals. Their goal is to offer a choice to anyone at the end-of-life, who chooses not to die in a hospital, and for many reasons can not remain in their home, an alternative will be needed. Their goal is to raise 3 Million Dollars. Our goal is to assist them to build this facility. The gala fundraiser is called Legends and Legacy and has the theme Diva Hollywood. From the initial greeting on the red carpet, to the awesome decorating, fabulous meal and the Skyliners swing band, we want this to be a night to remember. We will also be announcing our Legends & Legacy 2007 winners (for nomination form, click on our Legends Gala 2007 page) - will you be a Legend in 2007? One of the events within the event is the live and silent auction. We are asking you to consider supporting our cause with a donation. You will be recognized in the catalogue, on the sponsorship list, and with your very own star if your donation is over $500. Donations under that amount will be listed in the catalogue and will also be much appreciated. Another option you may want to consider is a sponsorship of the event.
