The first part of every year at the Global Auction Guide Media Group is extremely busy. After 10 years in business we have come to expect it, and actually enjoy it.
So it is usually this time of year before we get to catch our breath and look back at 2010 and it’s successes.
2010 was the first full year for our new website design and I don’t think we could be happier with the results. Continuing to be search engine friendly was at the top of the list of requirements for our new site, and after incorporating many new features we increased our traffic from Google by over 75% and ended the year with over 2 million referrals just from that one search engine!
Add in Yahoo and Bing and there is another half million referrals.
I should clarify that a bit more , those referrals are purely from organic search engine positioning, we do not do any pay per click advertising or other forms of paid traffic.
Google likes us, so they send us traffic.
It’s that simple.
Progressive auctioneers quickly realise that if they can’t be at the top of the search engines with their upcoming sales, they better be listed on the sites that are at the top.
We have done some blog posts covering 2009 and 2008, so I will put in some comparison numbers here as well.
In 2010 the search engines sent that traffic above to 919,407 separate keywords or phrases which is a 16% increase over the previous year.
Wondering what the top keywords of the year were?
It is impossible for any one auction company to get to be #1 on Google for Nebraska Auctions, but is it worth a $1 a day to have your sales in front of 35 people everyday looking for auctions in your area? Plus every other term you match for ? Plus every item you have listed? Plus the majority of site users who just simply browse the listings without searching for anything.
Our top sale in 2010 was a farm sale in South Dakota at 54,598 pageviews.
Can you afford not to advertise with Global Auction Guide.com for as little as a dollar a day ?
